Fitting Implicitly Defined Curves to Unorganized Points with Sharp Features
In order to represent and reconstruct sharp features (i.e., corners) by an implicitly defined curve, we add so–called corner detector functions, which are special radial basis functions, to the function defining the initial curve. The parameters controlling them are automatically adjusted by applying an evolution process.
متن کاملIris Recognition based on Local sharp Variation Points
A wide variety of systems require reliable personal recognition schemes. With the development of biometric recognition technology it is found that iris is one of the most reliable biometric recognition schemes because of its randomly distributed features and unique characteristics. The method discussed in this paper recognized the key local variation points to represent the characteristics of t...

Sharp Thresholds
The Kolmogorov Zero-One law states that for tail events on infinite-dimensional probability spaces, the probability must be either zero or one. Behavior analogous in a natural sense to this exists on finite-dimensional spaces as well. Events exhibiting this behavior are said to have a sharp threshold. Let Qn = {0, 1}n be the discrete hypercube with the probability measure Pp defined by Pp(ω1, ω...
متن کاملSharp Boundary Electrocardiac Simulations
We present a sharp boundary electrocardiac simulation model based on the finite volume embedded boundary method for the solution of voltage dynamics in irregular domains with anisotropy and a high degree of anatomical detail. This method is second order accurate uniformly up to boundaries and is able to resolve small features without the use of fine meshes. This capability is necessary to enabl...
